A Legacy of Panesar Quality

Panesar has been renowned for generations in Kenya and beyond for incredibly high standards and impeccable wood craftsmanship. In 1948, Kundan Singh Panesar arrived in Kenya with a talent for carpentry and ironwork and the dream of creating his own business – Panesar’s Kenya Ltd. His son, Mohan “Moni” Singh Panesar, has been leading the company since 1972 when he joined the carpentry workshop. Moni held the business together through difficult times and helped it grow into the prestigious brand it is today. His son, Bharvir Singh Panesar, Kundan’s grandson, joined the company in 2011 and now serves as Chief Operating Officer.
The New Generation of Panesar

Modern Technology and Improvements

Panesar’s traditional craftsmanship continues, but over time the tools have become lighter, more efficient, and flexible. Other innovations have enhanced the fleet of delivery vehicles, and HR processes have become increasingly digitized. Technology is now integral to the business in mobile field communication and is also incorporated into the furniture itself.

Excellence Takes Time and Strong Foundations

Panesar sources timber from trusted suppliers who are licensed and follow a “cut one, plant two” policy, ensuring sustainable use of timber. The company produces exceptional wood furniture thanks to one of the largest drying kilns in East and Central Africa, which ensures controlled drying under precise conditions. A new automated process allows real-time monitoring of changes in the timber.

Panesar furniture is handmade and labor-intensive, with a focus on superior quality. The wood treatment process is meticulous, taking almost six months to prepare timber for use. This includes two months in the kiln, three months of seasoning, and a final period of testing before production.

The Highest Value for the Cost

Panesar’s pricing reflects the value and quality of its workmanship and design. The company provides clients with first-class products and service, creating furniture that makes memories and serves as a family investment.

The Special Panesar Workshop

The 60,000 sq. ft., 3-story Panesar workshop is designed around the principles of the Japanese philosophy, Kaizen. By continuously improving production methods, Panesar has developed an efficient production process. The workshop is kept clean and organized by a dedicated team, creating one of the cleanest woodworking setups in the world.

Positive feelings in the workshop begin each morning with a prayer, fostering a culture where employees are treated as family. Panesar carpenters are part of a skilled team, known for their expertise.
